You know Vinny Dee isn’t even my real name. My real name is Vincent. But ever since I was called “Vinny Dee” by one of the hosts at a bar I was playing at, it just resonated with me and now here we are. Vinny Dee is a musician from Boston living in San Diego. Vinny Dee is a Singer-Songwriter and the leader of the band “Friends of Fortune”. Vinny Dee is a man who pays bills and eats pizza and watches TV. Vinny Dee is a human interpretation of emotions and thoughts that people usually have trouble expressing. That is why I do this.

My lyrics are here to emotionally drive people. I make music that is pleasant and catchy but makes you think about your self and your experiences. For Example, my song “Love in Boston” talks about leaving the love of my life behind in the city I love the most and being caught up “making songs from memories of moments that never came to be”.

During my show at San Diego’s Lestats West Venue, I had one person cry during that song and afterwards I apologized but that is the goal. I make my performances as relatable and personal as possible so that we can share these memories and emotions and express them in a safe place. I also like to connect with the crowd as much as possible and if the venue is right I may actually go and sit down in a “Pow-Wow” type of way and play straight acoustic to the crowd. I do that because I believe that music is very precious and I don’t want people to get distracted by big stages and large and loud equipment, especially when I am trying to pass on a more emotional song. At the same time I have songs, like my hit Blues Rock song “Come Home”, that make you want to clap and make me want to jump on a table and scream and holler.

Music is the one thing in my life that I have the most respect for. I treat it as a person and every performance I try to show that respect by sharing it in the most fitting way. I want to spread my music and my thoughts and common human being emotions with others in hopes that they can also open up and talk about theirs, whether its for healing purposes or for “laughing at it” purposes and I hope to deliver that to this next venue. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my thoughts.
