Glass Lungs will be performing in our Sound The Groove bash at DROM NYC on Thursday, April 5th, 2018! Be sure to check out Glass Lungs online and see them in action in April!
Glass Lungs is a six-piece ambient band from Brooklyn that blends styles of indie rock, progressive rock, and post rock with a vast collection of effects that result in an atmospheric vibe endearingly referred to as “space wizardry.”
The band’s sound is primarily based on unique song structures and the importance of specialized guitar tones often overlooked by groups not comprised of audiophile geeks. Stressing the importance of analog technology, Glass Lungs emphasizes handmade gear and boutique quality production to craft a unique immersive ambience. The result is a vast aura of sliding notes and fretboard-tapping riffs blanketed with cavernous reverb and powerful vocal dynamics. Behind them, a five-string bass and baritone guitar create deep, chest-rumbling lows tight enough to sit in the pocket alongside bruising and technical percussion. When Glass Lungs plays you don’t just hear them, you feel them.
The group was born in January of 2015 with five original members who all possess over a decade of touring experience throughout the continental United States. Glass Lungs released two early singles, ‘Acquiesce’ and ‘Echoing’, before filming a live-action video for a fan favorite track, ‘The Migrant Wind’, in 2016.
The band’s forthcoming full length debut was recorded in the summer of 2017 at VuDu Studios with producers and engineers whose resumes include The Dear Hunter, Glassjaw, As Cities Burn, Dillinger Escape Plan, Hopesfall and many more. A 10-track LP titled ‘Impermanence’ is slated for a summer 2018 release.
Glass Lungs is endorsed by Dr. Scientist Sounds, Reverend Guitars, Caroline Guitar Co., Stacks FX, Diamond Pedals, SolidGoldFX, Coppersound Pedals, Monarch Cabinets, Chase Bliss Audio, and Righteous Sound Pickups.
