Storm Boyer “STORM” is an aspiring hip-hop artist from Ohio. STORM has been a songwriter since he was 8 years old. His musical roots grew out from the 90s and have shaped everything that is STORM. After graduating from Ohio University in 2011, he packed his bags and moved to LA to pursue his music dreams.
The young artist represents creativity and has a fresh approach to hip-hop expression. His music has really grown in just the past couple of years and his following is gaining ground quickly.
STORM has performed and many different venues, and has also had the honor of opening for Dru Hill. STORM has a large catalogue of songs online including his latest project titled “Work Ethic”, a 17-track mixtape exhibiting his flow, lyrics and hard work that he has been putting into his game. The project took 4 months to complete, but he was very proud of the overall outcome. The mixtape was produced by Afterlife, a popular producer who is a part of Storm’s rap group. Several of the songs also include features from a variety of up and coming artists such as Baby-T, Rich Rogers, Chris the Don, and Justine Jelaine. Storm has worked with all of these artists in the past and each musician was happy to play a role in the successful project. “My favorite track on the mixtape is ‘Too Much’. It completely sums up the entire album and helps to give me the fuel I need some days when I feel like I’m at my lowest,” Storm Boyer said.
“Work Ethic” means a lot to Storm, who has really come a long way since first beginning to rap and his relentless willpower to succeed is a standard that other young artists should follow. “I hope they will get a better understanding of hard work and determination. You can attain anything if you want it bad enough and strive for it every day,” Storm Boyer told our team. The talented hip-hop artist hopes the new project will give him more exposure and help to build his fan base as he looks to advance his career.
One of Storm’s goals is to share his music with anyone and everyone. His music has no boundaries and the potential to connect with every listener it reaches. Not only is Storm an artist, but he’s also been producing more of his music lately. His fusion of beats, sounds, and instruments is sure to make you feel good and want to dance.
Storm’s silly and energetic personality gives his music an extra boost of fun. Some of his musical inspirations include B.O.B., Big Sean, and Tyga.

Editor’s Note: SubSound is performing at Avalon Hollywood’s Bardot on Friday, October 14th, 2016! Jake’s project is FULL of positive energy and we encourage everyone to come see!
SubSound is the most recent project I (Jake Stevenson) have been able to put together with co-founder Kenny Filarski. We are the furthest thing from trained musicians, but we focus on assembling music that has meaning backed with feeling and hopefully sounds groovy! When performing we try to create a space where viewers are able to experience a wide spectrum of emotions.
The band is pieced together with transplants from all over. I am from Hershey Pa; other members are from Providence, RI; Phoenix, AZ. We are all currently recording a new cd out of Agoura Borealis Recording built by the Legendary Glen Campbell in Agoura Hills. I am really excited about this one and its much different than anything I have available on ITunes or Spotify with previous bands (Jesse and the JakeMan, or my solo work as Jake Stevenson)
Music is my obsession plain and simple. It is why, and who I am. I just remember being at concerts and seeing Musicians making so many people happy, by doing nothing more than playing guitar or singing a song. At some point I knew that is what I have to do.
I will always find it awesome relating to music or that line in a song you swear was wrote just for you. If I could make someone else feel that way… well I don’t know how much happier I could be.
I always have a hard time when someone asks what music type of music do you play or who do you sound like? It is hard for me to throw a label on something when it has so many different components, I am personally interested in music of any genre, if sounds good and is authentic. I really dig old school funk, Jazz, Old and new Hip/Hop and R&B, and I also really enjoy the Singer/ Songwriter Stuff

Editor’s Note: The Swansons will be performing on Thursday, January 12th, 2017 at The Federal Bar in Downtown Long Beach! Check them out!
After listening to The Swanson’s YouTube Channel on a stressful Friday afternoon, I quickly found myself bobbing my head to their song, “In The Middle of Now.” With the band’s catchy lyrics, vibrant sounds, and playful music videos – I was eager to learn more about them. I quickly found a band with great history, long term friendships, and a deep admiration for each other’s talents. Guitarist Joe Finley speaks of each member with great pride and respect; and even after spending so many years together, they still can’t seem to get enough of one another.
How did the band come together?
“My wife began singing when she met me believe it or not. When we were dating, I asked Angie to sing a couple of lines in a song I had written. She was nervous, but agreed. She sounded so good I suggested we become a rock duo, and we did! My son Joseph has been our drummer ever since we started. Our bass player, Super Dave, is a long time family friend who joined us just over a year ago. In addition to our main line-up, we have one of the best musicians on the planet, Joe Alfaro. He’s been working as my producer and guitar player for 8 albums and counting. Finally, there is Daniel the Duke Alexander on keyboards. Daniel was in a band with me for several years over 20 years ago. We reconnected during the end of our new album, ‘Good Day.’ Daniel played in every track and joined us live several performances ago. He’s quite the asset to our line-up.”
How would you describe your music to people?
“I would say it’s pop-rock music that has a unique blended rhythm. A sound that is both equal parts male and female duo, both vocally and instrumentally – all while being positive and motivating.”
How do you feel about being described as a ‘Modern-Day Sonny and Cher?”
“That’s a wonderful compliment, they were amazing!”
How is it like being on the road with your significant other?
“I couldn’t imagine it any other way. We enjoy each other’s company and prefer to be around each other as much as possible. We are in love!”
How do you balance your music with other obligations – mate, children, job?
“I am fortunate enough to be in a position that allows us to pursue our musical ambitions on a daily basis on our own schedule.”
Where do you derive inspiration from as a songwriter?
“I am inspired by love and I am in love with my wife and my life!”
Many bands have superstitious rituals before going onstage. Is there anything you guys do as a group before performing?
“We get ready together, we travel together and we pray together before going on.”
What musicians have influenced your music?
“Lennon, McCartney, Cat Stevens, Elton John, Led Zepplin, Bob Seger, ELO, CCR, and most all the Classics.”
“What’s your dream venue to play?”
Thrice Authentic is a PHENOMENAL Hip-Hop artist rising out of the San Diego area. Just when you thought lyrical complexity and delivery was missing from the scene, this artist makes up for everything us true Hip-Hop lovers have been longing to hear for years. See Thrice Authentic perform on Friday, October 7th, 2016 at The Music Box in Downtown San Diego!
Born and bred in San Diego California, Thrice Authentic is an up and coming MC with a passion for pushing the boundaries of what can be done lyrically. Experimenting with vernacular and word play almost to an obsession, his goal is to do things that have never been done, say things that have never been said, while also representing himself, artistry, family, and community in every bar.
That obsession was fostered as a young teen listening to legends like Nas, Biggie, Jay-Z, Method Man, and Ludacris among others. That influence progressed into freestyling, which grew into a love for writing and those influences shine through today. He’s been a part of the Groove International family for more than a year now and we’re looking to grow that relationship into big things for the future!
Elevensworth’s live show is one of extreme excitement and pure energy! Every song is performed with an intensity like no other band out there! You can catch them performing live at The Sound the Groove Masquerade bash on Thursday, September 29th, 2016 at The Federal Bar in Downtown Long Beach!
Elevensworth started as the brainchild of Chris Leyba and Patrick Leyba. Chris Leyba is the Guitarist/Lead vocalist and is the primary song writer. Patrick Leyba is the drummer who is heavily influenced by Steven Adler and Dave Grohl, just to name a few. Adolfo Perez is the bass player who has been with the band since 2011. Adolfo and Chris have played in bands in their youth and came together as the Elevensworth bassist. Adolfo also writes some songs as well. Jon Franco has recently joined the band as a 2nd guitarist and back up vocalist. (Jon has been a childhood friend of Chris and Patrick Leyba). The latest addition to the band is Lalo Resendez. He is the keyboardist for the band and adds tremendous depth and character to the music.
The band’s upcoming full length album entitled “These hearts aren’t built for breaking” (out this fall) is a culmination of old and new. Featuring old classics such as “Down casted.” With new gems such as “Walk across the ocean” and “Continue.” A roller coaster ride of rock and emotion!
